A POLICE BOX TO MATERIALISE IN BOSCOMBE!

Police BoxThe Twelfth Doctor, actor Peter Capaldi, has been invited to Boscombe near Bournemouth to unveil the town’s latest weapon in it’s fight against crime – a police box.

The 1960’s-style police box has been granted planning permission and organisers hope it will become a tourist attraction, as well as deterring crime in the area.

Local councillor and former mayor, Phil Stanley-Watts, first suggested the idea for the police box five years ago, and has told the Bournemouth Echo he intends to invite the new Doctor to the launch in November:

I’m trying to get Peter Capaldi to open it. I bumped into him when I was working as an extra on a play. I will contact the BBC so it will depend on what they say. This will put Boscombe on the map in a positive way. There used to be a lot of police boxes about. There’s going to be a police presence there. I think it does a number of things and it’s an attraction in itself.

The BBC has yet to respond to the invitation but we’ll keep you posted.
