Re: Series 10.. The Excitement Begins....

No it's you whinging about the new series. Plenty of other sci-fci shows have had aliens having sex with each other and no one's had a go at them for it.

Re: Series 10.. The Excitement Begins....

I agree with her, Who should not be encouraging sexual relations between alien species because it makes no sense whatsoever in biological terms and stops the suspension of disbelief. Yes, lots of aliens look surprisingly human in the Whoniverse - so let's avoid making the real reason for that even ...

Re: Moffat on using CGI to bring back dead Doctor Who actors

Bloody hell, yeah. When Verity Lambert & Waris Hussain cast Hartnell, they weren't really inspiring by his brilliant performances in things like This Sporting Life at all, what they wanted was a kinda sh*t plasticy awkward "doesn't look quite right" computer-generated version of his p...

Re: THE CELESTIAL TOYMAKER

On the one hand I dislike Sandifer, on the other hand I dislike the term Stephen James Walker even less. Usually because it's used by some of the biggest tools out there.

Re: THE CELESTIAL TOYMAKER

Then again you have pseudo-intellectuals like Phillip Sandifer who claim this story is racist and not necessarily for the reasons you may think http://www.eruditorumpress.com/blog/the-most-totally-closed-mind-the-celestial-toymaker/ And, I mean, seriously. I'm certainly deliberately including race a...

Re: Tom Baker, back in the day...

I am genuinely amazed he kept his job after that. Mind you back in the 70s you could be a peadophile and still work in children's telly.

Re: THE CELESTIAL TOYMAKER

Yes for some reason under Moffatt the show doesn't casually drop the n word, it's PC gone mad I say. ;) Now someone lock this thread before Joey, Bub or one of the other alt-righters find it and start ranting on about Stephen James Walkers.

Re: Russia 1917: Popular Uprising or Coup D'etat?

It was a coup not a revolution, worth noting that the tsar had already been overthrown by a genuine popular revolution. What happened was a coup against a provisional government, and it was far from glorious in fact it was marked by incompetence and bungling. As for the footage of the storming of th...

Re: Mawdryn Undead (my review)

He's contributing to the DWRG here is supposedly talking about Philip Martin although he seems to be ranting about Jeremy Kyle. "From the diamond mine to the factory..." by Thomas Cookson 26/12/16 Given New Who's obsession with making prophecies, it seems odd few fans ever talk about Venge...

Re: Rate "The Return of Doctor Mysterio"

Personally I thought it was ok I didn't have high hopes for the special but it proved to be a lot worse. As for Miles he wrote a few half decent books for the BBC and because of those he expected to be asked to write for the new series. When he found out he wouldn't he devoted his time to denouncing...

Re: Rate "The Return of Doctor Mysterio"

Doctor Who is now more awful than at any point in its prior history, not because the chief-writer-stroke-producer is vastly more inept than any of his predecessors (he clearly isn't), but because he's vastly more cynical. I, for one, would rather have a bad programme that's attempting something - a...
