Thanks to donations from members I've been able to move Planet Mondas to a faster server. But I'm still working on further improvements. Ad Revenue covers the server fees, but not my time, so if you like you can buy me a coffee, which will help fuel me! Thanks in advance! Mat Sadler (matjkd)

I'm sorry, I just find it to be mediocre.
It was unoriginally written, the scorpion monster looked almost exactly like that one from 'The Runaway Bride',
Nikola Tesla was portrayed as a dapper American instead of an uncomfortably apergeric Serbian wierdo,
there kept being sound effects that I thought we the incidental music and vice versa,
but most of all JODIE WHITAKER'S PERFORMANCE IS JUST LAME.
She makes Sylvester McCoy seems charismatic.

Argh!

And why is the loudness on BBC1 HD about 6 to 10dB quieter than the preceeding programmes?!

Great production values, awful script. Nothing of any note happened. It was all meaningless exposition and the three companions did nothing of note. Best forgotten.

I didn't think they were *that* great, tbh.
Real Tesla-style plasma discharges look amazing.
Generic CGI jedi-lightning less so.

Improvement on last week's. Still not as fun as the Spyfall episodes. But at least the swing seems to be going the other way.

Yeah, I enjoyed this one. Tesla would be a good fit for the TARDIS long-term, strong male character with a female assistant who was just that, an assistant. It had a nice simple lesson of credit where credit is due and how history can vindicate you. Liked how the villains wiped out Ediosn's workshop via eletro-shock, but they should not have evacuated the city streets, as I wanted there to be more death to give the villains more impact.

6/10.

1/10 for me. It was a clunker. Last weeks was 4/10 by comparison, This just felt flat, dull, lifeless and nothing seemed to happen. Again nothing on the so called timeless child either.

Started well then the "doctor" turned up and I had to switch off. She is rubbish.

She’s been good in the earlier episodeS but in this it was a poor Tennant tribute act and the three adrics did very little.

Define good?

Frenetic chaotic runaround...not enough time to get to know or care about the characters...just..babble babble..runaway...content does not fit the timeslot...which has that CBBC sheen...strange..as Chibnall would have known when it was going out

She's like one of them fan made video versions of a doctor. A poor attempt at being a female version of Tennant. They have her written like she's a motormouth and would be better suited to a support role in Last of the Summer Wine.

Was the Skithra supposed to be related to the Racnoss?

A safe 7.
Tesla was a likeable character....scorpions looked good in the streets. Knockoff rachnos was a bit lame but the story was not bad. Let down by the totally awful music. Better than last weeks by a country mile.

I would agree with 7, an average new who episode and positively brilliant for Chibnall compared to his usual stuff. Yet it felt like a Tennant throwback and next week we have the Judoon. The show is more tonally consistent now, but it's missing the lighter-hearted feel of the RTD era. Nice history lesson for the kids. Not sure about the casting for the Skithra, I know she was in the Sarah Jane Adventures, but still...

I don't watch any more, but the other half popped the telly on 5 minutes early for Call the Midwife and I caught glimpses with the sound on mute. The Racnoss rip-off, was there a reason the make-up team seemed to have forgotten to apply any make-up around the actor's eyes? It rather killed any pretense that this was an alien rather than an actor in a mask.

Does anyone else think some of Whitaker's eps from this season and last are taking on an oddly BF vibe?

Tesla would have made a good Doctor.

Peggy the Chalet Maid is not a good Doctor.

BF, Big Finish. Yeah, hardly bother with them either myself.
