Seems the release date for this has shifted yet again, this time to 2nd July according to Amazon, HMV and Zoom.

Thanks to donations from members I've been able to move Planet Mondas to a faster server. But I'm still working on further improvements. Ad Revenue covers the server fees, but not my time, so if you like you can buy me a coffee, which will help fuel me! Thanks in advance! Mat Sadler (matjkd)

Just had an email from Amazon confirming 02 July
"It can become a kind of franchise where it's not a real character at all, but just an amalgam of elements that people think are Doctor Who: a scarf, a bow tie... I wanted to be the actual Doctor Who." - Peter Capaldi

I wonder what causes the date to move when so close to the release date?

Manufacturing of set?

You'd think this close to release everything would be in order

In my work we have a date set and it doesn't move, everything else does but the date stays.

That'll no doubt mean a further week added to our release date too.
(Doctor Who) has been hijacked and redefined as a lucrative modern franchise. They've literally taken a square peg and painfully made it fit a round hole by taking enormous liberties with much of its fundamental essence. There's no turning back now.

I got an email from Amazon today telling me the release date has been changed.....to the 18th June. They’re only now getting round to informing me about the last time the date was changed. Presumaby the next time it’s pushed back they’ll tell me it’s coming out on the second of July. What a shambles this release is turning out to be.

Does anyone think that the release date had anything to do with the Fathom Event here in America that showed the "director's cut" version of Genesis of the Daleks. I went to see this tonight, it looked and sounded great and there was the Tom Baker interview after the "movie" with Matthew Sweet, which is on the Blu Ray release I believe.

I think it's a bit OTT to call it a "shambles" just because the release date has altered once or twice. It happens, it's not the end of the world.

Yes haha you’re right. “Shambles” was too strong a choice of wording but see after Underwater Menace, The Movie BluRay, the artwork on the series 3 steelbook (the main reason to purchase them) I’m just getting a wee bit frustrated with Doctor Who home media releases. Plus it nourishes my black soul to be cynical and whiny about everything

I'm sorry, I was having a good day. I'll be back to my old git self soon enough, I'm sure. :D :P

Any word as to what the ‘other archive treats’ special features that were mentioned in some of the listings online are?

If they're listed like that, they're probably like 20 second easter eggs of no consequence. Like a BBC Continuity Announcer recorded off the telly introducing Genesis of the Daleks or summat.

Cancelled my UK pre-order. I’ll wait for the local (Australian) release.
Hope the audio issue (US set) with part one of The Sontaran Experiment gets fixed, along with the (missing and inaccurate) subtitles.

the out of phase sound problem on sontaran Experiment plus the missing extra and bodged subtitles dosent sound good for the region 1 release, especially as steve roberts begged american fans to order the U.S set instead of going for the UK version

Bunged this in the ME thread but will also bung it in here 'cos it's mostly about the season 12 Blu-Ray thing and believe it or not, there are folks who don't visit that thread...
