So, What's The Last DVD/Blu-ray You Bought?

Postby The Ginger Cat » Tue Mar 31, 2015 2:05 am

Well, yesterday morning the old postie stuck my copy of the BFI's 4 DVD set of "Sherlock Holmes" (the old Douglas Wilmer BBC TV series) through me letter box. :D

Thanks to donations from members I've been able to move Planet Mondas to a faster server. But I'm still working on further improvements. Ad Revenue covers the server fees, but not my time, so if you like you can buy me a coffee, which will help fuel me! Thanks in advance! Mat Sadler (matjkd)

It may have been something with Patrick Troughton and Yetis in the underground, actually. We don't buy them very often due to our church-mouse-like financial status.

Well, it's not quite what I had in mind, but I'll let you off. :)

As mentioned elsewhere, the complete Adam West Batman series. From Italy. Region 2, all in English including the box (with an easily removable Italian blurb sticker), and episode guide booklet. Just a shame it's all digi-pack. But still better than the tat filled mega-box at over £100. I had those bubble gum cards and the model Batmobile as a nipper back in the 60s. Still got the cards infact.

From Amazon Italy at just over £40. Marvelous. And enjoying them to the full. Holy Blu-ray!

I got Hammer's "Phantom of the Opera", "X : The Man with the X-Ray Eyes", "The Other", and finally "House of the Long Shadows" a couple of days ago.

I bought the Morecombe and Wise BBC Collection, which arrived the other day.

I saw the retrospective hosted by Penelope Keith on BBC2 when i was in the UK recently. Couldn't resist.

Don't remember their BBC stuff, not sure if it got much of airing over here.

Also bought the Mad Max trilogy on bluray.

I bought Bugsy Malone on Blu Ray today for a fiver. Haven't seen it since I was a kid so I'm looking forward to it.

I just bought the complete series of The Avengers for £48 in the Amazon prime sale. I was going to buy them separately so I could get the shot-on-film episodes on blu ray, but considering each series set is about £35 each I couldn't pass such a great bargain up.

I've ordered Return of the Saint too! :D
(Doctor Who) has been hijacked and redefined as a lucrative modern franchise. They've literally taken a square peg and painfully made it fit a round hole by taking enormous liberties with much of its fundamental essence. There's no turning back now.
