Adam Adamant Lives! (1966)

"Shaken, not stirred", "We're the Sweeney, son - and we haven't had any dinner" and all that jazz.

Just in case any folks missed it on our "So About Those Missing Episodes Then..." thread.

Gregbert wrote:I just wanted to share here what I posted on Kaleidoscope's Facebook page:

We were simply overwhelmed by the response of our tease to a recent tele-fantasy find that we were going to announce with the next episode of our podcast. Since it may be a week or so before its release, we wanted to tell you what it is now so we don’t leave you in suspense for an undue amount of time because we know this is important to everyone and important to us too.

The find is a pristine complete AUDIO recording of a missing episode of Adam Adamant Lives! We know a lot of our friends and supporters were probably hoping for something a bit more visual to go along with this audio find but we are very excited by what this is and we will share the name of the episode, how it was found and audio clips from the recently found episode on the next episode of Kaleidoscope’s From the Archive: A British Television Podcast.

Please note: we are only reporting the news of this discovery. We are not claiming we found it. This recording been returned to us by someone else. All will be revealed soon…...

I wonder what one it is.

Thanks to donations from members I've been able to move Planet Mondas to a faster server. But I'm still working on further improvements. Ad Revenue covers the server fees, but not my time, so if you like you can buy me a coffee, which will help fuel me! Thanks in advance! Mat Sadler (matjkd)

From the Archive has a new podcast out, covering (amongst other stuff) that recently discovered Adam Adamant Lives ME soundtrack (at around 110:27' in), The Basardi Affair and some exciting news cocerning it.

I like how in the series that everyone seems to know who Adam Adamant is! Considering he had been missing and thought dead for sixty four years that is a little odd! The government respects his history and villains also fear and tremble at his name! He can be a little too good to be true with his abstaining from the usual things that men like to do and his love for country and duty can be a little outdated but I still wish we had a few more episodes of season two to watch!

With the discovery of the audio from The Basardi Affair last year combined with the general lack of info on what the missing episodes were about (other than a very basic one/two line synopsis probably taken from TV listings of the time) I've been wondering if the scripts to any or even all of Adam Adamant Lives missing episodes exist. It sounds as though season two really stepped up its game - the return of The Face, the opener with Adamant waking up in a retirement home back in the year 1902, another with Adamant squaring off against his double - but it sounds as though if such scripts exist, they haven't come to light which sounds odd to me. Sure I'd prefer the actual recordings, but are the scripts out there as far as anyone knows?

There's a Miss Jones dolly being flogged on eBay for around 1,000 nicker if anyone's interested.

I’ve been rewatching some episodes of this series.

D for Destruction has some actor I’ve never heard of called Patrick Troughton in it briefly. Broadcast the month before he appeared in some role called Doctor Who apparently.

Fair dinkum it should be essential listening for all you flamin’ kids.
