I haven't given a CastleMaine XXXX since 1989. :D
(Doctor Who) has been hijacked and redefined as a lucrative modern franchise. They've literally taken a square peg and painfully made it fit a round hole by taking enormous liberties with much of its fundamental essence. There's no turning back now.

James Bond 25: Rami Malek joins cast and Phoebe Waller-Bridge to co-write

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-48054674

Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek has been confirmed in the cast of the 25th official James Bond film at the movie's launch event in Jamaica.

Malek won the Academy Award for best actor in February for playing singer Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.

Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge is among the writers. But the title of the new film, which will be released in April 2020, wasn't revealed.

It will be Daniel Craig's fifth and final outing as 007.

“Bond 25” Script Still Rumored To Be In Flux

In wake of the awkward press launch and filming having begun, you might think the problems surrounding the upcoming “Bond 25” were behind the filmmakers. Not so much.

The film has been plagued with issues for some time with writer and director switches and talk of re-writes up until the last minute. Now The Daily Mail regular Bond scooper Baz Bamigboye has reported that said problems have rolled over into early production – especially in terms of the script.

The report indicates said script is in a constant state of flux with just about everyone involved contributing last minute additions to the currently shooting project. “Killing Eve” creator Pheobe Waller-Bridge signed onto the project recently and at the time it was thought to be just to polish dialogue and beef up the female characters.

The paper’s source indicates it’s more than that: “She’s writing a re-write of a re-write… Daniel’s writing. Cary’s writing. The crew reckon they’re working on a well-polished s–t show… They have an outline of plot, but dialogue is all last minute.”

Whatever state it is in, “Bond 25” is set to hit cinemas on April 8th 2020.

Bond 25” Suspends Shooting After Craig Injury

Shooting on the troubled new James Bond film has hit another setback.

British tabloid The Sun (via Variety) reports that actor Daniel Craig fell whilst sprinting on the set in Jamaica last week and has been flown to the U.S. for X-rays, which has resulted in a suspension of the film’s shoot.

The newspaper claims Craig was shooting one of his final scenes in Jamaica and slipped and fell quite awkwardly whilst sprinting. They say he was in quite a lot of pain and was complaining about his ankle.

Filming at London’s Pinewood Studios, which had been scheduled to begin at the end of the week, has been cancelled.

This would mark the fourth Bond film Craig has been injured on during its shoot. He lost two teeth on “Casino Royale,” sliced off his fingertip and tore a shoulder muscle for “Quantum of Solace,” and injured his knee on “Spectre.”

The currently untitled “Bond 25” has faced multiple issues from a troubled script to the hiring and departure of Danny Boyle, to several delays. Cary Joji Fukunaga is directing from a script by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Craig Undergoes Surgery For Bond Set Injury

The official James Bond Twitter account has shared an update on “Bond 25” star Daniel Craig, confirming reports last week of an ankle injury.

In fact they go as far as to say Craig is undergoing minor ankle surgery resulting from that injury sustained during filming in Jamaica. Production, which only kicked off a few weeks ago, will continue whilst Craig is rehabilitating for two weeks post-surgery.

In the new film

Ralph Fiennes, Lea Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear, Jeffrey Wright, Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, Ana De Arma, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch and Rami Malek star.

Cary Joji Fukunaga directs the film which features a script written by Fukunaga, Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The biggest block of filming takes place at Pinewood Studios in the UK.

The producers have made it clear that despite the injury, the film remains on track for the same release date in April 2020.

Explosions Damage The “Bond 25” Set

The new James Bond film has suffered yet another setback, this time a major accident on set at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom.

According to a statement from the official Bond Twitter account, a controlled explosion went wrong resulting in damage to the exterior of the famed 007 stage. While it claimed there were no injuries on set, it did report that a crewmember outside the stage suffered a “minor injury.”

The Sun newspaper goes further, claiming the crew were testing a stunt involving a fireball in a laboratory when the incident took place and says there were three large explosions which blew part of the Bond stage roof off along with some wall panels. A member of the crew was found lying on the floor outside the building injured.

The news lands just weeks after actor Daniel Craig damaged ankle ligaments while shooting in Jamaica. The actor has since returned to work.

Cary Joji Fukunaga is helming the latest instalment which stars Rami Malek as the villain along with Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Jeffrey Wright, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch and Billy Magnussen. It’s targeting an April 8th 2020 release.

Yes. A brilliant series of books, with the weird exception of TSWLM (though it isn't a bad book, just a bad Bond book).

Not sure about these films they're making about him, though.

When they said there would be "big spectacles" I thought ... oh well, never mind.

Captain Marvel Actress to Replace 007?

No, it is not Brie Larson, but it is her friend from Captain Marvel. According to The Mirror we will be getting our first female 007 played by Lashana Lynch in Bond 25. Is this a clever way to appease the 10 people who want a female Bond, or are they setting up a new character to continue the franchise?

Anyone want to suggest a singer/group to sing the theme for the new film?

I'd be interested in Nine Inch Nails for a faster theme, Florence and the Machine for a slower track. I don't listen to a lot of new music these days, so I'm a little out of touch.

For a very long time I've been longing for The Scaffold to do a Bond Theme. How they have always been overlooked is beyond me.

That's a less than inspiring title. I think they pick them from a Scrabble bag with various Bondish words inside.

(Still waiting for Goldenballs...)

Within Temptation or Tarja.

Actually Tarja has already done one!
