Dallas

Sue Ellen, you're a drunk, a tramp and an unfit mother.

After all these years though i'm still trying to work out who that devil dude was in the last episode (the one who showed JR what life would be like if he hadn't been born)

He was the Devil. As it turns out in the 1996 follow up TV Movie "J.R. Returns", J.R. didn't shoot himself (we didn't see what Bobby saw) but blew a hole in his mirror. ;)

I saw This Morning but missed the other two. I will be watching the One Show though. thanks for the heads up :)

Yeah been a few plugs for the show on today.

Yeah thought he was, it was just such a strange ending, you got a close up of Bobby as he heard a shot and said 'JR'. that episode always stands out in my mind, it was just so out there

Thanks to donations from members I've been able to move Planet Mondas to a faster server. But I'm still working on further improvements. Ad Revenue covers the server fees, but not my time, so if you like you can buy me a coffee, which will help fuel me! Thanks in advance! Mat Sadler (matjkd)

The final episode of the original series was as mad as a bucket of frogs!

I've watched the first season of the new Dallas and IMO the BBC has made a big mistake by not buying it and scheduling it in prime-time on BBC One. Whether it takes off again in this country remains to be seen but the fact it's hidden away on Channel 5 won't help.

I was thinking much the same, but then it's coming from an American station that I had never heard of until Dallas came along. I hope it will be a big hit for C5.

Nobody watches channel 5,it blotted its copybook from the off with on screen logos and tits out for the lads programmes. Its never been able to shake it off.It would gain viewers repeating classic brit drama and comedy like itv4 does.

God, the trailer for this is terrifying!! Larry Hagman in close-up (now, I know he has been very ill) but god... its quite frightening. He resembles that corpse in 'Return of the Living Dead' that is swathed in seaweed and terrorizes our heros in the basement. Bobby has somehow metamorphosed into Bea Arthur and Sue Ellen is the usual tucked, pulled, lifted, pouting Californian trout.
I can't see how they can squeeze any more drama from these cadavers, its been far too long.

From what I gather, the original cast members are for the most part taking a back seat to the events surrounding the next generation. They are the Jock's and Miss Ellie's for the new series.

Just seen an advert on 5, and you couldn't make this up, they've got a Documentry for the build up of the series with John Barrowman called 'John Barrowman's Dallas'. Its on Wendsday at 10pm

I haven't read any of the preceeding 7 pages,
but I'd just like to assert that Kenny Everett's recurring "Dallasty" sketches (with 'RJ', Spam Stewing, Miss Oily etc) were works of utter genius.

The new gen of actors take centre stage but there's lots of action for the original cast. Patrick Duffy has a lot to do and so does Larry Hagman although he only makes cameo appearances in about three of the episodes mid-season before coming back to steal the show in the finale!

FFS. I have been a bit busy of late so let the episodes on CBS Drama stack up for the last couple of weeks. Before last night the last episode I had seen was 303. So I put on what was listed as 304 last night and then discover they had put the wrong episode on from earlier in the run. At the start of episode 305 the announcer made an apology for this mistake made not once, not twice but three times. Surely to goodness someone had spotted the mistake before the 9 am repeat (The time I now record it from to stop it overlapping with EVERYTHING) the following morning? The announcer then goes on to say that the correct episode would be screened that Saturday at 3PM but my series link didn't pick up on that so I have missed it. :x

I believe they've written Larry Hagman's death into the script as a reprise of the Who Shot J.R. storyline from the original series.

Well I don't know about that but according to Dallas Fanzine footage of Larry's memorial will be used in the episode of JR's funeral.

What?!! I missed it! And it doesn't seem to be on catch-up for Ch5, which I imagine it would be...?

Are you sure, Stephen?

Well it recorded Dallas on C5 last night so I assume it was the new series. I didn't twig until I saw it said Tuesday in the TV listings mags on Monday. All the fan sites and FB pages had said it was going to be Wednesday 30th.
