Thanks to donations from members I've been able to move Planet Mondas to a faster server. But I'm still working on further improvements. Ad Revenue covers the server fees, but not my time, so if you like you can buy me a coffee, which will help fuel me! Thanks in advance! Mat Sadler (matjkd)

And so it should have :D
"It can become a kind of franchise where it's not a real character at all, but just an amalgam of elements that people think are Doctor Who: a scarf, a bow tie... I wanted to be the actual Doctor Who." - Peter Capaldi

It should have started with the 8th Doctor and then on to Matt Smith being the 9th.

Missed out Chris Eccleston and David Tennent.

I've liked all the Doctors myself. Maybe Tennant was a bit over blown by the fan girls.

Dear God, the mentality.

The BBC is still the same corporation of nincompoops as it was in the 80s, isn't it?
(Doctor Who) has been hijacked and redefined as a lucrative modern franchise. They've literally taken a square peg and painfully made it fit a round hole by taking enormous liberties with much of its fundamental essence. There's no turning back now.

I think that I can remember Ian Levine getting wind of that at the time and campaigning against it- its true.

It is pretty retarded, yes. Sadly though, big media organisation / film studios / TV networks / publishers / record labels are almost always like this: there are tiers of philistine idiots running the thing, through which actual creative people have to fight to get anything made.

They attempted to stop it coming back at all back in 2003

No, it shouldn't. Getting rid of Tennant and casting Smith gave some of us-those with taste-Doctor Who back.

I'd prefer them to have started on the 4th Doctor, and then onto Tennant or Smith being the 5th.

The 4th Doctor regenerated in 1981. Tennant was 10 years old and Smith hadn't even been born.
My next door neighbour mixed up her KY jelly with the superglue. I asked her how she managed that but her lips are sealed.

it did end for me when Tennant left. Let's hope it comes back with Capaldi. The bit in between I would gladly flush down the pan.

I have to admit that after seeing Matt Smith in action my thought was "At last! Welcome back!"

Admittedly that response has been tempered by some less than stellar writing since then, but he always seems so much more like the Doctor as I remember him.
"I have sat here for 13 years weeping at the tragedy of so many people wasting the precious gift of life chasing the mirage of a bigger GDP." -- Jeanette Fitzsimons, in her valedictory speech on leaving parliament.

I meant they should've started New Who in 2005 from the premise that the whole JNT era never happened and is no longer canon, therefore the 4th Doctor never regenerated into Davison and is still around as the Doctor.
