Favourite David Tennant Stories

Favourite David Tennant Stories

Postby Bowtiesarecool » Fri Jan 15, 2016 9:19 pm

This is slightly more difficult for me as I'm not a great Tennant fan but I'll give it a go.

Tooth and Claw
School Reunion
Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit
The Runaway Bride
Smith and Jones
Gridlock
Human Nature/The Family of Blood
Blink
Utopia
Partners in Crime
The Fires of Pompeii
The Sontoran Stratagem/The Poison Sky
Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead
Turn Left

I know it's only a handful it's something at least.
The Doctor died with Capaldi. The Chibnall era is non-canon.

There are no Doctors before William Hartnell.

Without respect, we reject.

Thanks to donations from members I've been able to move Planet Mondas to a faster server. But I'm still working on further improvements. Ad Revenue covers the server fees, but not my time, so if you like you can buy me a coffee, which will help fuel me! Thanks in advance! Mat Sadler (matjkd)

I'm a Tennant fan, although not of his portrayal of the Doctor (except on a few occasions). And not a fan of RTD's writing, at least for Dr Who (The Second Coming was OK until he blew the ending...which come to think of it describes most of his Who, too).

So this is a fairly short list...

Dalek
Father's Day
The Empty Child/Doctor Dances
Blink (not that he was in it very much)
Human Nature
Smith and Jones
School reunion

Er.....was there anything else that was any good?

Can't think of anything offhand.

The last 2 minutes of his last story, the bit after he said, 'I don't want to go' , when he changed into Matt Smith...

So he wasn't. I shall put down this glass of wine before next trying to dig up something worthwhile involving DT and RTD, since it's obviously a losing whatsit. So yes, there's

Blink - where he's only on a DVD for most of the time
Human Nature, where's he's human most of the time (and spoils it when he isn't)
Smith and Jones, where he's OK apart from the shoe business. Despite the stupidity of lots of the story this is my favourite RTD story.
School reunion where he's with SJS, so what else could you want?

Come on brain there MUST be more that was at least halfway decent.

None of the specials. None of the season finales...

Oh wait, "Time Crash" was good. Was he in that?

You can see why I slipped into Eccleston territory, at least he had 3 decent stories in one series rather than 4 scattered over the next three. (That and advancing age...)

There's plenty of Tennant stories that I don't mind, but if pushed, guess I'd go with "Blink", and "The Waters of Mars" as favourites.

(Doctor Who) has been hijacked and redefined as a lucrative modern franchise. They've literally taken a square peg and painfully made it fit a round hole by taking enormous liberties with much of its fundamental essence. There's no turning back now.
