Thanks to donations from members I've been able to move Planet Mondas to a faster server. But I'm still working on further improvements. Ad Revenue covers the server fees, but not my time, so if you like you can buy me a coffee, which will help fuel me! Thanks in advance! Mat Sadler (matjkd)

8-)

The Doctor died with Capaldi. The Chibnall era is non-canon.

There are no Doctors before William Hartnell.

Without respect, we reject.

So Chibbers will start with a clean slate, as it were?

Yes, it would seem so.

f*ck!

So much for my hoping he'd stay longer like Pertwee and be given better material which at this ooint come 2018/19 falls on the doorsteps at Big Finish not named "Briggs" or "Dorney" or Titan Comics though I kniw they'd turn the next slot of comics for 12tg into the Missy show like how they basically ruined 11th's comic and the return of Absolm Daak on the War Safe Space....smh

Yay! :Drunk:

I bet Asbill will be a one-season wonder too. Fresh start for Chibbers, thank God. Now he just has to make it good!
(Doctor Who) has been hijacked and redefined as a lucrative modern franchise. They've literally taken a square peg and painfully made it fit a round hole by taking enormous liberties with much of its fundamental essence. There's no turning back now.

 Moffat will have no say in the next Doctor. I suspect the whole point is letting Chibbers cast his own Doctor, as Moffat did.

Apparently Capaldi announced his leaving on the wireless. You can catch it here:

Just like 2010 then.
To be honest I think the show badly needs it. I really like Capaldi in the role, deserved better stories. As did Smith for his last Series. After S10 finishes it's the ideal time for the show to revamp itself, hopefully for the better.

A great actor whose tenure was ruined by sh*t writing and stupid gimmicks (the sunglasses and the guitar anyone).

Kind of sad really.

I am pleased. Hopefully a clean slate and another reboot with a younger Doctor. I was thrilled when Peter was cast but I have not enjoyed his Take on the Doctor, nore the darkness, or the scripts. I though he was really going to nail it but I guess like Matt Smith he can only work with what he's given and the direction he follows. Overall I hope this new production team, new Doctor, maybe a new companion will see a brand new envigorated show.

Yayness ! I'm sorry if the news does upset you but you can't begin to understand how happy this news makes me as I've always, ALWAYS, hated Peter Capaldi portrayal of The Doctor. Abrupt, rude, arrogant and just plain annoying, to me Twelfth Doctor is just Sixth Doctor times two ! And I've always, ALWAYS hated Colin Baker portrayal of The Doctor. Now lets just hope whoever the new Doctor is, he has the courage and strength as actor to create their own vision of character and see it through and is not some tired retread of some version that went before (.I.e Matt Smith who based his entire Doctor on Patrick Troughton portrayal all way down to bowtie). More importantly speaking as lifetime fan (Class Of Season 18) let's just hope the show gets back to being fun again because for me I am done with these poorly written, really badly thought out, over the top, dark, dramatic, story arcs from Moffat.

In Chibbers we trust ! :D

Also don't know how real this is but interesting if true, rumours are also circulating around internet that new Doctor has already been cast by BBC and it's Andy Zaltzman : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Zaltzman

;) No chance. It'll either be a woman, a black man or a young hip Tennant/Smith clone. ;)

Probably a black woman hipster who raps.

Feel bad for Capaldi. His entire tenure was just a black hole of utter rubbish. Not even a REMEMBRANCE OF THE DALEKS. Just rubbish from beginning to end. Even his Doctor was a failure.

We will know if the show has a chance depending on who plays the Doctor. If it is what/whom I said then we are done before we have even begun.

Here is hoping.

So, you're saying it'll be a man or a woman then. Do you have a source for this?
