BBC 3 is taking part in Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary celebrations by screening a special greatest moments-style programme.

Comedian Tom Craine has revealed via his official website that he is appearing as a guest on the show:

Delighted that I’ll be appearing as a guest on a forthcoming BBC 3 show celebrating 50 years of Doctor Who. Wouldn’t put it past me to have a few stern words to say about the Daleks.

Other programmes and events are taking place on or around the 50th anniversary including the much awaited docu-drama exploring the origins of the show, An Adventure in Space and Time, written by regular Who scribe Mark Gatiss. The BBC is also staging it’s own 50th anniversary celebration event at the ExCel centre in London on Friday 22nd, Saturday 23rd, and Sunday 24th of November, featuring a line-up of stars from the new and classic series.

Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary episode, starring Matt Smith, David Tennant, Jenna Coleman, Billie Piper and John Hurt will be broadcast on BBC One on Saturday 23 November.
