The BBC have announced that a new short documentary about the First Doctor, actor William Hartnell, will be shown on BBC Two tonight, directly after the origins of Doctor Who docu-drama, An Adventure in Space and Time, written by Mark Gatiss.
William Hartnell: The Original is a five minute long programme which looks at what happened to William Hartnell after he left Doctor Who. The documentary includes rare archive footage and brand new interviews featuring Carole Ann Ford, Peter Purves, Waris Hussein along with Matt Smith, Peter Davison and Hartnell’s granddaughter, Jessica Carney.
The programme is described as a revealing and affectionate portrait of a much-loved actor, and can be seen at 10.25pm on BBC Two.
