The Classic Series variations are the best, but I do have a soft spot for Matt Smith's first console. It's just so him with its wackiness.

Ashildr and Clara - an exciting adventure in time and space
Time Lords? Where we're going, we don't need Time Lords! Tune in to a totally original series where an immortal travels around in a TARDIS with a human friend who's super-duper special!

.
If they're at it, I'd watch it. :D

Re: MOCKING THE PARENT SHOW: Why Can't New Who Stop Making Fun of Classic Who?

Because it's made by people who genuinely think they're better than everyone else, including those actual creatives behind the classic show. The fact that they're so wrong only makes their crap all the more frustrating or hilarious, depending on your mood.

He fell out with them because he thinks they're a bunch of virtue signalling t***s with egos that can be seen from the moon and who think they're above other fans.

He's not wrong.

Re: THE BBC "NEW SERIES ADVENTURES" NOVELS: Do You Collect Them (Or Have You Given Up On Them)?

I had the same response to the one I borrowed from the local library by Mark Morris (who wrote a few good horror PDAs.) Seemed very watered down and having to visualise Tennant made me feel quite ill. :D

Re: THE BBC "EIGHTH DOCTOR ADVENTURES" NOVELS: Did You Collect Them (and Did You Give Up On Them)?

Stopped collecting them all very quickly, dipped in occasionally but between the "quality" and the zero affinity I had for the 8th doctor was never much of a fan.

I got some, but after a while I stopped getting them all and just picked up selected ones (like any Gareth Roberts ones!).

Re: THE VIRGIN "NEW ADVENTURES" NOVELS: Did You Collect Them (and Did You Give Up On Them)?

I got them all, though they got very hard-going in the latter stages. I very quickly dropped the BBC Books range, though, probably because they were also very hard-going but also because the TV Movie had not wowed me and I just didn't have the same kind of fan loyalty to the 8th doctor that I did th...

Re: "I WAITED A WHOLE WEEK FOR... THAT?!?": Are Two-Parters Always Doomed to Disappoint - and Why?

I don't think it's wholly true, I enjoyed both parts of Aliens of London, Empty Child and Time of Angels. One thing I never quite got was their bizarre insistence that each part had to be different to the previous ep. Er, why? It's meant to be the same story, isn't it? If not, why make it a 2 parter...

Re: "NEVER MIND THE REST OF IT!": Individual Episodes That You Really, Really Like!

I have always really, really liked the opening episode of TERMINUS. The eerie soundscape with the banshee like howls, the doom-laden incidental music, the threatened break-up of the TARDIS, those skull etched walls of the spaceship the TARDIS latches onto. Davison's selling of the jeopardy. "If she...

Re: Does any remember the "A Celebration" book?

Remember it? It was my Bible when I first became a fan in the late 80s! I had it on near-permanent loan from my local mobile library.
I have a copy of the republished version, but it's not as nice as the original.
