The start of it is brilliant, but it meanders later. Inferno takes a mighty giant rat dump all over it.

Re: BBC ANNOUNCEMENT: New Doctor revealed this Sunday

Of course, it doesn't really matter who plays the part. Whoever it is will be playing it in such a way as to actually appeal to a modern audience rather than as though the show was still being made in 1978, so naturally, they'll be crap whatever they do. Right? So the humour of a Crackerjack...

Re: BBC ANNOUNCEMENT: New Doctor revealed this Sunday

I'll be dissapointed if its not an older actor. No offence to any younger actor cast, I just know the Timothy Claypole bollocks they'll ask him to perform if he's under the age of 45.

Re: Worst Performances In Doctor Who

David Tennant. In everything between appearing in a blaze of light in 2005 and disappearing with a pathetic whimper on January 1st 2010. I agree mainly, The Tenth Doctor is the worst performance in the shows history. But his turn as John Smith, may be the best performance in the show's history. Ten...

Re: Season 25 and 26 is near perfect DW

I'm not a fan, but I'll defend it if adversely compared to the new series, as McCoy often is (mainly in bars). I'll defend Delta and the Bannermen (although I'm not a fan) if it is adversely compared to the new series. In fact I'll defend anything from the original series if it is ever ever adverse...

Re: Writer eviscerates Moffat's Who

Actually I blame the showrunner system rather than Moffat. Agreed, I basically want someone to rein in the writers and craft a consistent vision for the series. But, I want someone who doesn't write for the series, in order to remove some of the ego problems that have plagued the showrunner approac...

I can't believe they're showing Journeys End for Tennant. FFS, it's the worst story EVER! :floorroll: What are you on about!!!! Its the bestest westest story wory ever, like all the others he made, which are just as super duper. You're ruining our big party with your negative comments!!! Stone him ...

That isn't from the old series. That's like blaming the Sylvester McCoy era for Doctorin The Tardis

Re: Doctor Who Proms 2013

The difference between classic and new series music is how radical the old stuff still sounds, and how conservative the new stuff strives to be. Miss when the soundtrack was so excited and ambitious about progression, rather than an overwhelming desire to be cacophonous wallpaper.

Re: Doctor Who Proms 2013

Review here It covers up some pretty bland music. As usual, they've crowbarred in a few popular classics (some Bizet, Debussy and Bach), but it's Murray Gold's compositions for the Russell T Davies/Steven Moffat era that dominate the Prom. Gold's cinematic schmaltz is grimly effective as underscore...

Cutting quote. Doctor Who since 1980 has been dominated by the personality disorders of the people making it.

Re: Writer eviscerates Moffat's Who

A lot of the GB lot disregard almost all of the Whistle-blower's "insider" blog posted earlier in the year on the grounds the owner later admitted it was fake. What they don't understand is most of what has in the original blog post (not subsequent postings) was alarmingly close to the truth. Very ...
