Re: The Complete Collection Future Releases

Don't think we will see any more of these this year...

Maybe next year.

This pic is actually better than many of the images of the Doctor over the 6 episodes, but does show the proportions to be... Strange.

Re: Dr. Who - Fury from the Deep Animation

God,its dreadful. Ive baled out at ep4. Boring as, too. The cartoon figures goosestepping , with 8ft arms waving about ugh..... characters turn this way & that, instantly. Why- if theyve put SO much work into these, cant somebody oversee accurate-proportioned character drawing, for a start? The set...

Re: Dr. Who - Fury from the Deep Animation

The TARDIS doesn't spin when it lands on the sea in the first episode, in the animation.

Oak and Quill have lost much of their sinister creepiness in the animation, specially in the attack on Maggie Harris in episode 2.

Re: Dr. Who - Fury from the Deep Animation

The scene at the end of episode 3 on the animation, where Maggie Harris walks into a static, non moving sea, loses much of its power and shock effect due to the (lack) of animation. I suspect the static sea, along with the overly long arms on all characters, were a deliberate choice by the animators...

Re: Dr. Who - Fury from the Deep Animation

I find this release... Lacking.

It's not the same quality as 'Power', 'Macra' or 'Faceless'.

Certainly not as authentic as 'Invasion', 'Tenth Planet' or 'Moonbase'.

The team making this didn't watch Troughton.

Re: Dr. Who - Fury from the Deep Animation

Is the animation as good as 'The Power of the Daleks' Special Edition? In my opinion it's the worst yet, POTD original animation and SE are far superior and that's saying something!! Regards HGL Wow. I know you weren't a fan of the POTD SE, so that's quite something. I must admit that I haven't see...

The Evil of the Daleks and The Abominable Snowmen animations for 2021

According to a British newspaper, 'The Mirror', 'The Evil of the Daleks' and 'The Abominable Snowmen' are being animated for release in 2021.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/dr- ... s-22582866

If this is accurate, 2021 is going to be an excellent year for Classic Who.

Re: The Complete Collection Future Releases

After initially being reluctant to purchase the classic series on blu ray, as I already owned everything on dvd, I now find the improved picture and sound quality, not to mention the top notch extras, means I don't like watching on dvd anymore and can't wait for everything to have a blu ray release.

I don't have any issues with the picture quality that you mention. Is your blu ray player working properly?

Re: Animated Power of the Daleks, 21st November

The new animation looks much better than the 2016 version. The shading, as can be seen on the pics, is much better than the original version, allowing for greater detail.

Re: Animated Power of the Daleks, 21st November

At times when watching the recon of episode one, it felt as if I was watching a discovered missing episode, what with all the improved fragments of missing film playing without the strobing effect in perfect synchronisation with the audio. It really is that good.

Re: Animated Power of the Daleks, 21st November

Marco, So you are not bothered that they have removed the little jig and recorder playing?!! , changed his trousers, took off his head for a few seconds, stuck on a head from faceless ones, then replaced it with the original?. I agree 100% about the reconstructions which I've already posted, they a...

Re: Animated Power of the Daleks, 21st November

Bought the blu ray and have watched the animated first episode, the first episode of the new reconstruction and some of the many extras. I'm very impressed! The animation of the first episode is much improved, mainly because light and shadow have been improved so that the animated characters look as...
