Re: What's The Last TV Show You Watched?

If you have Netflix and you're not watching this, why not? It's great. Mainly because almost every American series I've tried to watch in the last decade has been rubbish, and we've given up after a couple of episodes. Notable examples include "Killing Eve", "Mrs America", "Person of Interest", "Wh...

Re: A rare moment of insight?

So Jodie supporters will come down on anyone who objects to her being the Doctor as being overly "patriarchal", yet she needed to get the word of approval from the man in charge... hmm... Does anyone remember the film "9 to 5" ?

Re: What's The Last TV Show You Watched?

So, the last TV programme I watched was a detective series set in the 1950s in which the main character is a crime-solving priest.

Can you guess what it was?

Actually, I saw them both. An episode of FATHER BROWN, followed by an episode of GRANTCHESTER. Interesting contrast.

A rare moment of insight?

Jodie thought she was "doing it wrong" - until Chris Chibnall told her otherwise.

Sadly, she believed him.

Another person I would have assumed had long since passed on.

The trouble is he's been displaced in my mind. Whenever someone mentions Bough nowadays, I automatically think of his namesake.

"No, Bough. This is a job for the shoebox inflatable."

It isn't the safest place to be during a pandemic, unfortunately, unless you have to be (as obviously he does). Hope he's out soon.

Note - first video is not censored (so mildly rude in places). Actually, I think I was at that party.

Apparently she posted some video that she found funny, but others found offensive.
We've all been there.

(In my case on this forum...)

Let me see. SHAKESPEARE and UNICORN were awful, as was PLANET. I don't remember much about the rest.

Re: What's The Last TV Show You Watched?

STRIKE - LETHAL WHITE I'll just say it's about 100x better as a TV programme than it was as a book. The book by "Robert Galbraith" dragged on intermnially (and was very badly written in places - I guess no one dares take an editorial pen to JKR) - but the story was OK, as seeing it on TV illustrated.

I'm torn between Daemons and Green Death. I think I'll have to go for the one that got rid of one of my least favourite companions.

Has to be GIANTS - it was the first episode of Dr Who I ever watched, so I have a soft spot for it. Made me the neurotic I am today.

Re: Sorry (1981)

I never watched this at the time. The theme of the show just seems too ... limp, I guess, to appeal. Plus I never found Ronnie C terribly funny, although he may just have been eclipsed by the other Ronnie. But I don't mind revising my opinion. Does anyone think watching "Sorry" is likely to change m...

Re: CLASSIC VS. CLASSIC: Which Was the Best Dennis Spooner Script?

Difficult, but in the absence of some (well, a couple) of episodes - and not having seen the historicals since they were first broadcast back in the Stone Age - and given that he was "only fleshing out" DMP because they suddenly decided it should be stretched to double size - I'm going for "The Time...
