Re: Rate "The Doctor Falls"

I gave it a 1 out of 10 and am optimistic for the new series only because Moffat, the bad producer but good writer, has pushed Who so far up its own right-on McCoyvian arse that it will have to swing back towards normalcy for mathematical if not quality and taste reasons.

The legs help reinforce the dog concept. That's why the redesigned K9 suck...

Re: Vote for Moffat's best bits...

His writing when within the boundaries set by RTD and subject ot his strong leadership was excellent. His own era offers nothing I like patricularly other than Matt Smith and one doesn't know whether that was a Moffism or not. If so, then add Matt Smith to the list. Moff-Who is the first time I, and...

Re: Have Big Finish made Sixie too nice/tepid ?

I don't mind the softening of the Sixth Doctor, but it is jarring if one wishes to binge his era from initial TV shows, BF then final TV show. Likewise as Peri is my favorite companion I very much like what BF has done with her, and I am sad she doesn't seem to be coming back to the role after the W...

Re: Rate Victory of the Daleks

Those hideous "Fatleks" or whatever folk nicknamed them, Smith twirling around waving Jammie Dodgers about, Spitfires in space and all that... yeah, wasn't very keen on this episode. It looks in hindsight to have been a cold blooded attempt to establish a Terry Nation style market stall - each new ...

This was awful and yet it actually makes Mindwarp look good? If I remember rightly it has some guff about knocking the planet off course with a nuclear bomb to make it colder for the Ice Warriors. It does. In many ways it faithfully recreates every pungent moment of the Baker-McCoy axis of evil fro...

Re: Rate "The Lie of the Land"

A government propaganda broadcaster for a uniparty system which wants a supplicant compliant population is never going to let Doctor Who have military solutions or even stories where unavoidable violence saves the day. It would give the viewers the right idea. Power of love endings are just another ...

Another solid one out of ten. Everybody now employed in this show whether on the acting or production side should be sacked. 180 poast, solid rolled gold and spot on. Having had the opportunity to read my colleague's judgement prior to offering my own I may say that I have nothing to add and concur...

Jago and Litefoot Revival and J&L Series 13 Well Revival is a two parter with one of the team narrating each half. It features a different guest star character in each half too even though they're actually both the same character, and very up to date they are too. I really enjoyed Revival, and it wo...

Zaltzman would be an inspired pick. I doubt anyone other than a talentless foreign jew could ever outcompete the dire awful sheer mind numbing awfulness of McCoy and Capaldi-Moff. Hopefully they'll just pick one of the younger actors from Game of Thrones or use some other luvvie quotient to determin...

Re: John Hurt R.I.P.

I would never buy them in a fit, but didn't he voice act for the Big Finish War Doctor stories, or was that a chiz? If he did that, then he has added an interesting corner of Who lore, albeit not one that will probably be well or fondly remembered. Fortunately for Hurt, he was an immensely talented ...

Sack Mark Gatiss and Murray Gold.. Sack Nick Briggs.... I wouldn't give any interviews, only let the actors in the lead roles do publicity... Kill off the Mary Poppins Master..... Immediately cast a new Doctor... James May from Top Gear.... No more fanwankery.... Concentrate on good story telling, ...

Quicksilver

A painful knockoff of Third Man aside, this could have been a classic. It should have been, and it would also have been a great final story for the otherwise unremarkable and irritating interpolation otherwise known as Constance. Instead, Big Finish does what it does "best"... Enter unasked for prev...

Beast of Kravenos

This is a Fourth Doctor, Romana II and K9 adventure crossover with Jago and Litefoot. There is not so much as a clue as to where or when in the Jago and Litefoot continuity this takes place, which is normally a "so what" kind of issue except this utterly disposable throwaway story comes after 12 set...

Re: watching Dr Who from the beginning: Season 32

Exactly. In Who, there is always the real chance of a new different and 'better' version, ie one more to one's personal liking, just around the corner.

It's why it would always be far better to replace producers every three or so years, and NOT simultaneously replace actors.
