Re: Future Reboot? Or Continuation?

The current culture is horribly intolerant of any thing made before they were born. When I was younger............a long long long time ago........my generation ADORED the past. We would watch silent movies on Monday while reading BEOWULF in school and then go home and watch a 1940s WW 2 movie. We ...

Re: RETCONNING THE LOT?; How Would YOU Retroactively Deal With This Era?

Say what some will about Russel "The" Davies, but his Time War survivor's guilt concept was the only way to justify so much of what the show lacked when it returned, as well as what it resumed doing after the more bombastic Seventh Doctors battles were done and reset the Doctor to that of a travell...

Female Doctors and Masters and male Ranis, Susans and Romanas.

But of course, we'll never have male Ranis, Susans and Romanas because that is just sexist. 8-)
Heeeyyyyyy .... that would be a cool idea for an episode! Having Susan come back, with her current regeneration being a guy!

Re: YOU AND THE ECCLESTON DOCTOR: How Do You Rate Him?

One of my favourite stories of his era is the one set during WWII and seeing his joy that everyone lived. That's Chris' favourite story too, I believe. :) Those were the two best episodes he did! Too bad the "everyone lived" line was kind of deprived of its significance in the overall show's run. A...

If they filmed an episode like that, I'd give it a 10 before even seeing it. No way you could mess a fantastic premise like that up!

Re: GENDER-CHANGING TIME LORDS: Have You Accepted It Yet?

I don't mind the idea, they are supposedly aliens capable of changing form and there's no reason that can't extend to their naughty bits - although some sort of explanation for why it's apparently quite rare might have helped - but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. I think you have the righ...

Re: Rate "LIZ SHAW"

I really liked the alternative Liz Shaw in "Inferno." It showed, no matter what she did, she had the mind of a scientist. I think she wasn't used to her fullest potential. (Neither was the Brigadier, after the seventh season.)

Re: LOOKING AHEAD: Revolution of the Daleks

I wouldn't say I'm "looking forward" to it, sadly - I'm looking forward to some of the decent stuff the BBC still produces, like "Silent Witness", which seems to have avoided any wokery that I've noticed, for example in the last episode I saw (which was the first story of the current series, in cas...

Re: FUN: The Top 10 Worst Aspects of New Who

Going off at a definite tangent, this and the recent TIMELESS CHILD malarkey (currently at no. 1 in the poll) sort of remind me of what Nicholas Meyer said about the argument he and Leonard Nimoy had with Harve Bennett and Paramount regarding the whale song that saves the day at the end of STAR TRE...

Re: FUN: The Top 10 Worst Aspects of New Who?

So far I'm the only one who voted for "teased death" (Clara is uppermost on my mind for that one, but at least RTD was gutsy enough to keep the mind wipe for Donna -- which, considering the meta-crisis Doctor is ok, seems inconsistent as well). No I voted for that as well, although there are a few ...

Capaldi's would have been my favorite one if it had been less ... ah, whiny? Don't know how to put it, "like a cat being strangled" sounds about right. But I love the clanging of the bells at the beginning. I love how Eccleston/Tennant's is so orchestral, but in the end I voted for Smith's bec...
