How many times did Rory die?

I completely lost track (and/or stopped caring), but it seemed to me that Rory basically died pretty much every week. Actually I think Amy died a few times too.

Can anyone more knowledgeable about the Matt Smith episodes provide an accurate figure of the number of times Rory died during the show?

Not sure, but I always thought there was actually gonna be a point to his numerous deaths.

Apparently not...

I love a challenge,

Ok he first died in the dream in Amy's Choice, twice if you count the Doctor blowing up the Tardis in the second dream.
He died in the Silurian story
He faked his death in Day of the moon
He nearly died in Curse of the Blackspot but was saved by Amy
Amy was lead to belive that he died in the Tardis in the Doctors wife when House was playing with her head
The Doctor saw his grave in Time of the Angels so he'd died then.

so if we ignore the almosts and dreams, he died only twice.

Surely he died more than that!

Didn't he die and come back as an immortal cyberauton at one point, for instance?

Yes that was at the end of the silurian story which I mentioned. he came back as a auton at the end of the series in Pandorica Opens and then was rebooted with the universe, I didn't mention that as he didn't die in that one. There was a episode that teased at him dying but he didn't so i didn't mention that either.

They should never have got the writers of "South Park" involved.

He did seem to die an awful lot even if it wasn't all for real. Wasn't his body seen by Amy in a corridor in the TARDIS?
My next door neighbour mixed up her KY jelly with the superglue. I asked her how she managed that but her lips are sealed.

I think that one may have been an illusion - was it in "The Doctor's Wife" ?

Yes it was.
(Doctor Who) has been hijacked and redefined as a lucrative modern franchise. They've literally taken a square peg and painfully made it fit a round hole by taking enormous liberties with much of its fundamental essence. There's no turning back now.

Yes, and we've had Clara being mean to Danny and River Song being mean to the Doctor, almost like it's a theme.

Mickey didn't love Rose and Rose certainly didn't love Mickey. That was quite clear from the first episodes in 2005. ;)

Now that we all know about the rude bits, aren't they rude? And as we get older, they get ruder and ruder.

Well apparently a good female character today is too often is defined as one who is a self centered b@#$% which is not the best role model for young girls but that seems to be the point................

So we're forgetting all the slush of her messing with his emotions and him saying he loves her in Boomtown when then? ;)

While we're at it, why did Martha dump the bloke she was engaged to and marry Mickey?

Yes, that was another one. To put it another way, the main (young, female) companion has been the central character throughout most of NuHu. Since she has to have both a backstory which has to include a bloke (because how could she not have a bloke, her being so feisty and so on? ) but she also has to have buckets of UST with the Doctor. (Apparently, even though he's an alien   ) So there you have it, a classic lurve triangle.

Boy meets girl
Girl meets alien
Alien infests girl with its parasitic offspring is so exciting girl (sort of almost) dumps boy...
