10/10. Loved it! :D
Today, the Kaled race is ended, consumed in a fire of war, but, from it's ashes will rise a new race. The supreme creature. The ultimate conqueror of the universe - the Dalek!

A great ep... it never is really explained how Van Gough can see the evil parrot thing, and it's more about the characters than the scifi (indeed the parrot could have very easily been written in by Terrance Dicks, because he knows very well that you can't have a Doctor Who story without a monster) and the ending was quite moving. Good stuff.

Rather unusual Dr Who story - like someone decided to actually make one of the Doctor's name-dropping quips into a full episode.
And it was really rather touching in places - basically a three-hander, with the guy playing Van Gogh giving a good performance.
The "monster" itself was a bit cheap-GGI-looking and not particularly well explained in the plot, so I felt that was the weakest element and the story could almost have done without it (but then it would've been a "sci-fi free historical" of Hartnellesque proportions)

In any case, as a "this week's Dr Who episode" to watch on a Saturday Tea-time, it worked pretty well.

Yep.
I should also mention the hilarious joke which I really enjoyed: the Doctor tries to feed Van Gogh's sketch of the CGI Space-Turkey into his species-identifying-machine, and it keeps getting it wrong. And the Doctor goes "That's the trouble with the Impressionists" :floorroll: Brilliant!
(combined with lovely pics of Hartnell and Troughton popping out - lovely)

The Doctor and Amy travel back in time to meet Vincent Van Gogh and face an invisible monster that only the painter can see.

It seems Vincent really did paint something that looked a bit like the TARDIS!
