The composer of the MASH theme has gone. Hopefully it was painless and will bring on many changes.

What a fantastic age to reach, assuming you still have reasonable health. The report I read said that he passed away peacefully. At 102, what a way to go. RIP.

I'm extremely sorry to report that Ennio Morricone has died at the age of 91.

This seems a fitting piece to play, although the 'Man' has regenerated...

This obviously isn't a good month for musicians. Looks like the Devil's gone down to Georgia for the last time.

 Saxon was always a fave of mine.
(Doctor Who) has been hijacked and redefined as a lucrative modern franchise. They've literally taken a square peg and painfully made it fit a round hole by taking enormous liberties with much of its fundamental essence. There's no turning back now.

All lives are tragically cut short, in my opinion we should all live at least as long as my favourite number, which was invented by this guy, who has sadly just gone to the great matrix in the sky...

We can think of multiplication as repeated addition:

3 x 3 = 3+3+3

and exponentiation as repeated multiplication:
3 to the power 3 = 3 x 3 x 3.

If we define the single arrow operation, ↑, to be exponentiation, so:

3↑3 = 3 x 3 x 3 = 27,

then we can define the double-arrow operation ↑↑ to be

3↑↑3 = 3↑3↑3 = 3↑27 = 7,625,597,484,987.

We can carry on building new operations by repeating previous ones. The next would be the triple-arrow

3↑↑↑3 = 3↑↑3↑↑3 = 3↑↑(3↑↑3)=3↑↑7,625,597,484,987

a tower of powers of 3 that is 7,625,597,484,987 levels high! (See here to read about the up-arrow notation in more detail.)

He directed Angel Heart didn't he? Went to the pictures with me cousin to see that. I liked that one.
