Next month sees the release of Jon Pertwee’s first adventure Spearhead From Space on bluray. This is the only classic series story able to be remastered into true High Definition as it was recorded on 16mm film.
STORY
The newly regenerated Third Doctor arrives on Earth to begin his exile.
However the Doctor isn’t the only alien to arrive, as a swarm of meteorites have crashed into the sleepy English countryside, bringing with them a terrible threat to mankind.
Luckily the Doctor is discovered by soldiers from UNIT, the United Nations Intelligence Taskforce, led by his old friend Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, who are in the area investigating the meteorite shower. The Brigadier appoints the Doctor UNIT’s scientific advisor and provides him with a new assistant, Professor Elizabeth Shaw.
With an growing army of Autons, terrifying plastic facsimiles, on the loose, the Doctor must find a way of defeating them and their Nestene masters.
