DOCTOR WHO PROM BROADCAST DETAILS

As previously reported Zoe Ball revealed during Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor, that highlights from this year’s Doctor Who Prom would be shown on BBC One on Monday 26th August. The BBC have now revealed the programme will begin at 4pm and is 75 minutes long.

Two concerts were held over the weekend of the 13th and 14th July to celebrate 50 years of Doctor Who, featuring music by Murray Gold and specially edited video clips. The prom also included music from the classic series including The Daleks, Tomb of the Cybermen, The Sea Devils, City of Death, Logopolis, The Five Doctors, and The Curse of Fenric.

The show was hosted by Neve McIntosh and Dan Starkey in full costume as Vastra and Strax, supported by Matt Smith, Jenna Coleman, Peter Davison, and Carole Ann Ford. Sound effects were provided by Brian Hodgson of BBC Radiophonic Workshop fame, assisted by the talents of Peter Howell and Mark Ayres.

The concerts were performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the London Philharmonic Choir, conducted by Ben Foster.
